Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20th 1964) was an American politician, attorney and vice president of United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female elected vice president and she also holds the title of most powerful female officer in American history. She is a part of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. Additionally she was a United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born and was raised in Oakland, California. After starting her career as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Later she became the City Attorney of San Francisco. The office was named San Francisco district attorney in 2003. In 2010 she was appointed Attorney General of California and then re-elected in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Santiago in the 2016 Senate election and became the second African American woman to serve in Congress and the first South Asian American American to do so in the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who worked for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. The path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized.
