Barbara Ann Corcora

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a speaker and consultant, a speaker, columnist syndicated writer, author and television presenter. In 2001, she established The Corcoran Group in New York City. The company was sold to the brokerage to NRT for $66 million. In the following months she left the business. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals since February 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 purchase to pay for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids who was born in Edgewater. Florence was her mother, who was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover between jobs and the next during Corcoran’s childhood. In times, her family relied on deliveries of free food from a local grocer. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who would drink occasionally and was rude to her mother. Corcoran was a struggle in school and later learned that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of classes during her first year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
